Proserpinaca palustris
Origin: Cuba / Caribbean
Proserpinaca palustris 'Cuba' is an extraordinary stem plant from Cuba that transforms from green serrated leaves to vivid orange-red-bronze autumn colouration under strong light, CO2, and low nitrogen conditions. It is one of the most dramatically colour-changing aquatic plants. The serrated leaf margins add texture. It requires high light and CO2 for the full colour expression. A prized 'autumn colour' plant for competition aquascapes.
Light: very high. CO2 essential. Low-nitrogen fertilisation for best colouration. pH 5.5–7.0. Temperature: 22–28°C. One of the most vivid colour-change plants available.
