Rotala 'Colorata'

Rotala 'Colorata' is widely loved for its brilliant, consistent red-orange colouration even under moderate lighting conditions. Small oval leaves are arranged in whorls along the stem and display a vivid warm hue that makes it one of the most reliably colourful stem plants available. An excellent choice for creating bold red accents without extremely demanding conditions — more accessible than many other Rotala colour varieties.

Medium to high light for best colour; CO2 recommended for fast growth but not essential. pH 6.0–7.5, temperature 22–28°C, GH 2–15, KH 0–8. Dose liquid fertilisers regularly for iron and macronutrients. Prune regularly to maintain bushy growth; plant trimmed tops. Fast grower — can fill the background of a 60 cm tank within weeks.
