Rotala macrandra Green

Rotala macrandra 'Green' is the broadest-leaved Rotala species with round, broad leaves on long, fast-growing stems. Unlike the red form it stays vivid green, providing excellent colour contrast in Dutch aquascapes where red/green complementary plantings are standard. It requires high light and CO2 and must be trimmed regularly — it can grow several centimetres per day under ideal conditions. One of the most dramatic stem plants for large, high-tech planted tanks.

Light: very high. CO2 injection essential. Nutrient-rich water column. Regular trimming. Temperature: 22–28°C. Fast grower — plan for frequent maintenance.
