Rotala rotundifolia 'Blood Red'
Origin: Cultivar (Southeast Asian origin)
Rotala rotundifolia 'Blood Red' TC is a tissue-cultured cultivar selected for an exceptionally deep and saturated red that holds even in moderate lighting conditions, making it more accessible than most red Rotala varieties. The small, rounded submerged leaves form dense, vibrant columns that serve as stunning focal points in nature and Dutch-style aquascapes. The tissue-culture format guarantees algae-free, snail-free, and pesticide-free specimens ready for immediate planting.
Plant in nutrient-rich substrate and maintain high lighting for deepest red. CO2 injection recommended but not strictly required if lighting is very high. Dose iron-rich liquid fertilisers to sustain colour intensity. Trim regularly at around 20 cm to encourage bushy side shoots. Soft water preferred; performs reasonably in moderate hardness.
