Rotala rotundifolia

Rotala rotundifolia is one of the most popular stem plants for planted aquariums. Under medium light, it grows with pink-green round leaves; under high light and CO2, the leaves become vivid pink-red. One of the easiest red stem plants, suitable for low-tech setups when conditions are right.

Medium to high light for best coloration. CO2 improves growth and color. pH 5.5–7.5. Plant in groups of 5+ stems. Trim regularly from the top — cuttings replant easily. Fast-growing — excellent for new tank cycling and initial plant establishment.
