Rotala sp.
Also known as: Green Rotala
Origin: Southeast Asia
Rotala sp. 'Green' is a tissue culture stem plant selected for stable, vibrant lime-green foliage that does not turn red even under the highest light and CO2 conditions. This makes it invaluable as a contrast plant in red-dominant aquascapes. Growth is fast and branching is prolific, allowing dense columns or sweeping background drifts. The plant establishes quickly from the tissue culture pot and tolerates a wide range of parameters. Regular trimming every two to three weeks maintains bushy, compact growth. It works equally well in Dutch-style plantings as a bright green street or in Nature Aquarium layouts as a luminous backdrop. Ensure adequate phosphorus and nitrogen to sustain the intense green colouration.
Light: Medium–high CO2: Beneficial Fertilisation: Regular macro dosing to sustain green colour Placement: Midground to background Propagation: Trim tops; side shoots form readily at every node
