Monosolenium tenerum
Origin: Asia (China, Japan, India)
Round Pellia (Monosolenium tenerum) is a popular liverwort valued for its broad, emerald-green thalli that spread across rocks, driftwood, and foreground substrate without needing attachment. It is an extremely low-maintenance, slow-growing plant that thrives in shaded or low-light areas of the aquarium, making it versatile for a range of aquascape styles. This tissue-culture specimen is free of algae, pests, and pathogens, offering the cleanest possible introduction into your tank.
Requires minimal care — no CO2 or fertilisation necessary, though supplements aid growth. Can be attached loosely to rocks and wood with cotton thread or simply placed on substrate where thalli will spread naturally. Avoid aggressive water flow directly on the plant as thalli can break apart. Grows well under low to medium lighting. Compatible with most invertebrates.
