Sagittaria subulata
Origin: Eastern North America
Sagittaria subulata is an excellent low-maintenance alternative to Eleocharis for foreground or midground planting. Forms compact, bright-green grass-like tufts that spread via runners. More tolerant of hard water and lower light than most foreground plants.
Low to medium light. No CO2 required. pH 6.0–8.5, GH 3–20, temperature 15–27°C. Plant in groups. Spreads via runners to form a lawn-like carpet. Does not require high tech setup — ideal for low-tech aquariums. Trim runners to control spread.
