Salvinia natans
Origin: Europe, Asia
Salvinia natans is a floating fern with distinctive water-repellent, hairy leaves that form branching chains across the water surface. The hairy leaf texture gives it an attractive appearance and provides excellent cover for surface-dwelling or floating-plant-seeking species. Fast-growing and easy to maintain.
Floating only. Benefits from high surface light. Easy to portion and remove. Prevents algae growth on water surface. Ideal for Betta, Archer Fish, Hatchetfish, and other surface-dwelling species that appreciate surface cover. Remove excess regularly to prevent shading the rest of the tank.
