Staurogyne sp.
Also known as: Bihar Staurogyne, Indian Staurogyne
Origin: India (Bihar)
Staurogyne sp. Bihar is collected from the Bihar region of India and represents one of the more compact members of the Staurogyne genus. Its rounder, softer leaves distinguish it from the classic S. repens and give it a slightly different texture in foreground plantings. The tissue culture form ensures the plant arrives without snails, algae, or pathogens. It establishes easily in nutrient-rich substrate and spreads laterally by branching at each internode. Medium light is sufficient, though higher intensity and CO2 produce tighter, more cushion-like growth. It is a forgiving plant overall and one of the better choices for beginners wanting a low-growing foreground without the demands of HC Cuba.
Light: Medium–high CO2: Beneficial Fertilisation: Regular macro and micro dosing Placement: Foreground carpet or accent Propagation: Side shoots trimmed and replanted; naturally branches at each node
