Lomariopsis lineata
Also known as: Subwassertang, Round Pellia, Freshwater Seaweed
Origin: Southeast Asia
Subwassertang (translated from German as 'freshwater seaweed') is a liverwort of uncertain exact taxonomy, producing irregularly branching, rounded thalli without stems or leaves. It can float freely, rest on substrate, or be attached to hardscape and will grow in all configurations. Particularly popular in shrimp tanks, its dense, branching lobes provide excellent shelter and biofilm grazing surfaces for dwarf shrimp.
Light: low light; one of the least light-demanding aquarium plants available. CO2: not required; grows steadily without any supplementation. Attachment: no attachment needed; press gently onto hardscape or allow to float; it will anchor naturally on rough surfaces. Trimming: pull apart overgrown masses by hand; no tools required. Growth: moderate; propagate by simply separating and redistributing portions.
