Tropica Pogostemon helferi

Pogostemon helferi 'Downoi', known as 'Little Star', forms rosette-like clusters of wavy, distinctively star-shaped lime-green leaves directly on the substrate, creating a unique foreground texture found nowhere else in the planted tank hobby. Tropica's tissue culture version arrives clean and pest-free, ready to plant, and establishes quickly in good conditions. Requires CO2 injection and moderate to high lighting for optimal growth.

Plant individual rosettes on the substrate surface. CO2 injection and medium to high lighting are recommended for compact, healthy growth. Without CO2 the plant grows but may become leggy over time. Feed with comprehensive fertilizer regularly. Propagate by dividing daughter plants from the base. Excellent for creating distinctive foreground texture in scapes dominated by grasses or round-leaved plants.
