The batik nerite is a visually intricate freshwater snail whose shell is covered in a complex, labyrinthine pattern of black lines on a tan or cream background, resembling traditional Indonesian batik textile art. Native to Southeast Asian rivers, it is a capable grazer of biofilm and soft algae. Its extraordinary shell patterning makes it one of the most visually interesting snails in the hobby.
