The Caridina multidentata fan shrimp, closely related to the famous Amano shrimp, is a medium-sized freshwater shrimp from Japanese and Asian streams that feeds by foraging on algae, detritus, and organic matter rather than filter-feeding from the current. Its efficient and active grazing makes it one of the most effective algae control shrimp available. Highly active and visible during daylight hours.
