About
Labidochromis caeruleus 'Electric Yellow' is arguably the most popular Malawi cichlid and one of the most kept Mbuna. Its brilliant uniform yellow body with black dorsal and ventral fin edging is unmistakable. Among the most peaceful of the Mbuna, it is often recommended as the starting point for new Rift Lake aquarists.
Care Guide
At least 120 L. Keep in groups (1 male, 3+ females) with other Mbuna. Hard, alkaline water essential. Feed quality cichlid pellets and some plant-based food. More peaceful than other Mbuna but still aggressive. Males may fight; keep only 1 per tank. Maternal mouthbrooder.
