About
Lamprologus ocellatus 'Gold' is a diminutive (5 cm) shell-dwelling cichlid with impressive bravery for its size — males will fearlessly challenge fish ten times larger when defending their shell home. The gold morph has warm yellow-gold colouration with iridescent highlights. It is an ideal cichlid for nano Tanganyika setups and is fascinating to observe defending its shell territory.

pH 8.0–8.5. 4+ cm sand. Escargot shells or similar. Pairs or trio. Nano tank (60 L) suitable. Feed: small dry and frozen foods.
