Malaysian Trumpet Snails (Melanoides tuberculata) are cone-shaped substrate-dwelling snails that burrow through substrate continuously, aerating it and preventing anaerobic pockets. Their burrowing action creates natural substrate turnover similar to earthworms in soil. A beneficial and underappreciated species that improves substrate health in planted tanks.
