The tiger nerite is a popular and widely kept freshwater snail displaying an attractive amber to tan shell decorated with irregular black streaks and blotches that mimic tiger fur markings. Originating from East African and Indo-Pacific river systems, it is one of the most effective grazers of green spot algae and brown diatoms available to hobbyists.
