Vampire Shrimp (Atya gabonensis) — Blue Colour Form

A selectively sourced blue colour morph of the vampire shrimp, displaying an unusual blue-grey body colouration compared to the more common brown or red-brown wild form. Blue individuals are temporary or mood-dependent colour expressions in Atya gabonensis, occurring during moult cycles or when the shrimp is relaxed and well-fed. A spectacular and imposing animal in larger biotope or large community aquariums.
